Pingivisoor-5 turns existing park benches into connected smart devices. The kit includes five sensors installed on the bench backrest (length 150–180 cm) and a data communication module. The system detects the number of seated people, records usage duration and trends, tracks GPS location, and sends automated reports by email or SMS.

Why Smart Cities use it

  • Plan with evidence: See which benches and areas are actually used, at what times of day.

  • Improve placement & budgeting: Move or add benches where demand is high; avoid over-investing where usage is low.

  • Operations & safety: Get alerts for unusual activity or potential relocation/theft via GPS.

  • Simple reporting: Automatic daily/weekly summaries to your inbox or phone; no apps required.
