PWS-872FL is an industrial-grade tablet equipped with an Intel® Core™ i3/i5/i7/Celeron® processor, 10.1" WXGA and WUXGA LED display with multi-touch PCAP control, mSATA SATA III SSD storage, multiple I/O, and WiFi 6, NFC, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth 5.2 communication technologies. The built-in front (2MP) and rear (8MP) cameras, 1D/2D barcode scanner, and NFC reader provide convenient data collection tools, and the high-brightness sunlight-readable display supports outdoor applications. For mobile field-service applications, PWS-872FL can be integrated with a hot-swappable external battery that supports up to 11 hours of operation to enable long-duration use. Designed for harsh environments, PWS-872FL is also MIL-STD-810G certified for shock and vibration tolerance, IP65 rated for water and dust ingress protection, and can withstand drops up to 4 ft. Moreover, PWS-872FL can be integrated with various peripherals, such as a vehicle docking station, multi-bay battery charger, universal cover, and various I/O extension modules, to provide application-specific solutions. Moreover, PWS-872FL is equipped with Advantech’s DeviceOn/iService software, a next-generation unified device management solution based on the WISE-DeviceOn platform. With support for batch operations and multi-device control, DeviceOn/iService enables easy device configuration and deployment for convenient remote device management.

LCD display

The PWS-872FL features two LED display options: a WXGA 1280x800 screen with 300-nit brightness and a WUXGA 1920x1200 screen with 1000-nit brightness, both with anti-glare surfaces for sunlight readability. It includes a multi-touch projected capacitive touchscreen with a scratch-resistant Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 panel and supports operation with gloves. Sensors include ambient light, accelerometer, e-compass, and gyroscope for screen rotation (0°, 90°, 270°).

Windows 10 IoT Enterprise Operating System

The PWS-872FL comes with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit, a full version of Windows 10 tailored for IoT solutions. It includes enhanced management and security features beyond Windows 10 Pro, such as AppLocker and Device Guard. This OS provides the same tools as regular Windows but differs in licensing and cost based on the processor. It's ideal for specialized industrial PCs that need stability and security, performing specific tasks like controlling machines or medical equipment. The Long Term Support Branch (LTSB) version focuses on essential security updates, avoiding frequent feature changes, and excludes features like Edge, Cortana, and the Windows Store for better stability.
